Hagley Community preschool caters for aged 0 to 6 year old children of Hagley Community College staff and students as well as the wider residential community and Christchurch city central business district.

Our preschool community is culturally diverse with families and teaching staff from many different countries. We foster and encourage access to education for diverse communities within our region, including refugee and migrant communities. We support adult students to return to education at Hagley College or other nearby training and education facilities in the knowledge that their preschool child is in close proximity to them, on the Hagley College grounds.

Parents/whānau are welcome to be actively involved in their child’s learning at preschool.  They are encouraged to share their home culture and aspirations for their child, to enjoy daily catch-up chats, to pop in to visit at any time, and to contribute to decision- making about their child’s learning.

Hagley Community College Preschool was established in 1974 as a not-for-profit community early childhood service. The preschool is governed by a Trust Board that retains a close connection with Hagley Community College. Located in the College grounds the preschool has access to many of the resources of the College such as the library and grounds. Tamariki enjoy the additional benefits that the preschool offers through being an integral part of the wider Hagley College Community. They attend College events, and productions, and make use of the environment for walks and exploration.

HOURS:

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

We are closed for 4 weeks over the Christmas period.

FEES:  

7.25 per hr to maximum of $48.00 per day

$240.00 maximum per week

Casual Bookings: $10 per hour

Childcare subsidies may apply and we offer 20 ECE hours for 3-5 year olds.
