Course Components

• Explore and practice techniques for mobility, the use of weight and gravity, suspension and release, musicality and dynamics.

• Practise a series of choreographed and/or improvised dance phrases to increase confidence in your floor work, centre work, travelling and jumps

• Improve and maintain body alignment, muscular strength and flexibility to participate in and enjoy contemporary dance in an ongoing manner   

• Develop skills in critical analysis of performance works and various dance practice techniques

Pathways

Utilise your skills to build a sustainable dance practice. You may have the opportunity to progress to the Contemporary Dance Performance Training (Intermediate) level in the After 3 programme, or on to Hagley Dance Company programmes.
